SD Card Festival Submissions

What are people doing to skirt/avoid the 4GB file size limitation on SD cards formatted in FAT32? I recently had to downres an 8 minute short to 720P and encode to prores LT to get it under the limit. I worked and looked acceptable, but there has to be a better way. Not knowing what the screeners are using (Mac or PC) is part of the problem.

Thoughts, unrelated rants? ;)

well you can keep the resolution, but just compress it a few hundred times....
there more runs you can compress it, the better the quality vs the size...

convert it to xvid or something else works too...

Well, most festivals seem to require QT and if you send in another format they likely will not even screen it. Besides, you want to keep compression to a minimum on the big screen. It may look fine on a laptop screen, but that's about the upper extent.

Steve - those will work on PC's, but not Macs to the best of my knowledge.

It's a dilemma I tell ya'.
