I'm just trying to clarify.
The term "edit" can mean different things to different people.
You've seen that here with the confusion. Are you looking for
someone to proofread the script" Are you looking for someone
to cut it down to a more manageable page count? Are you
looking for someone to give you creative notes?
And the most important question; are you offering any pay or
are you looking for someone to do the editing for free? I know
some proofreaders (none who work for free) and I know a few
creative consultants (again, none who work for free) but before
I connect you I would like to better understand what you need.

If you're looking for developmental feedback, Scott the Reader is great. I just got feedback on my feature script from him, over 5 pages of great notes, really helpful stuff, for $60.

I should've been more specific. I was actually hoping to find someone to proofread my script one on one. I was trying to avoid submitting it online. I guess that's why it's been hard for me to find one. I'm not sure if there rare to find. Would you know anyone or any links please?
Most would want to review it first by themselves, before they would be able to give you notes. Not sure if the ones that were given would sit down with you after to give you notes. You would have to check with them. I don't think any would read it while you were waiting. To get the script to them, you would need to email, mail, or drop off in person. There are different writer groups in the area who could also give you feedback.
Okay, maybe we are still miscommunicating.
First, a proofreader only check your spelling and grammar. You do
not need to sit down with them one on one. They will fide typos
and misspelled words and incorrect grammar and fix it. Not only are
proofreaders not rare at all; there are everywhere and easy to find.
So maybe what you are looking for is something else. I asked before,
but I will ask again; what, exactly, are you looking for? What, exactly,
do you want someone to do with your script? Are you looking for someone
to give you creative notes and help you rewrite your script?
Second, I posted links to proofreaders near you - people you can call
on the phone and speak to and then sit down with. I'm not sure why
that isn't good enough. Or are you not in Lynn, MA? Tell me exactly
where you are and I will find more proofreaders for you.
