Screenplay Cover letter for submission

Firstly, I hope this is the right place for such a question. I've finished a feature, a period vampire piece with a twist on the lore of the Vampire (think more Nordic in backstory) that I'm hoping to get off the ground in whatever way possible. Whilst browsing the internet, I came across an agency (Marjacq) that represents writers/directors with an open submission policy. (More info here http://www.marjacq.com)

On their submissions page, they request a cover letter, 1-2 page synopsis and the script itself. Now, being a self-taught screenwriter I'm at a loss as to just what's needed in a "cover letter". I've browsed the internet and have seen many conflicting versions. Has anyone written one to an agency before and would be willing to offer some advice? Or should I be trying different avenues?

Thanks in advance!
