I'm shooting my film using a rode videomic on boom pole, I need to extend the cable on the mic but I've heard with it being 3.5mm jack that I will start to hear a buzz the longer I go? What length cable can I go without losing quality? Thanks
Anywhere from zero feet to about 30 feet. It will depend upon the quality (shielding) of the cable you get and the amount of electrical and RF interference in your location. Be aware that the longer you go the more chance of interference you will have; the cable acts as an antenna.
