Recommended DSLR slider?

I am looking to invest in a slider for my 5d mark ii. Here is one I have been looking at:

Glidetrack SD Hybrid Slider

Does anyone have any other recommendations that fit within the price point of the Glidetrack SD Hybrid Slider?

Also, do all sliders mount on tripods?

Kessler Crane Pocket Dolly is that price range. 629 dollars i think! It's amazing and about the price point of the Glidetrack! I got that one and it's simply amazing!

IMO it's not worth having one less than 4'. We use the classic speed rail mounted on baby stands it's not especially portable (without a van or truck), but we have used them in 4', 6', and 8' lengths before and it's a very versatile and not that expensive set up.

I plan on using it for intimate shots with a 50mm lens and a macro lens, so over 4' might be overkill for me. I'm thinking 3' might work. Would that be okay for what I want to do?

Check out the Cinevate webside too.
I have a Cinevate Atlas all terrain of 58" (I think; it's around 1,5m) and it's really smooth (all ball bearings; no sliding).
It has little adjustable legs, but you can mount it on tripods as well. You'll need 2 tripods.

It's not cheap.
It takes a little time to set up.
But it's working great: no hickups. I only need to do another take because the timing was off or the acting wasn't good enough.
They added a DSLR track last year, maybe it's worth checking out.

Recently used it in a commercial project (with C300): http://vimeo.com/43339386
The first time I used it in a project (with EX1R): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUQC9-PH_KA

PS.
Make sure the track can handle the weight of your camera (and fluidhead) easily. You don't want it to really bend when you use a heavy lense.
