Quiet Space...

Well, in 2 hours I've managed to double my word count that took me 2 days! A quiet working space is so important. Shame Costa Coffee isn't a hotel

Where do you find is the best place for you to work?

I like to sit at my desk with my headphones on.
I play music appropriate to the scene or script I am writing.

This is bolstered by copious amounts of coffee.

If I have these things, and no interruptions, I can write for days on end.

Listening to music that fit the scene is a massive help. Film soundtracks are great. Listening to the Dark Knight soundtrack for a hospital scene at the mo

Hmmm for me It's a mix of 'sweet dreams" from the 'Sucker Punch' soundtrack, and "cloud Atlas" extended theme.

For me, those two songs are so bang on. The Sucker Punch song for when I am writing something exciting of fast paced, or writing in a character playing on the edge with their own life, its punchy and risky, dangerous... and then I switch down into the cloud atlas part to write the more human parts, the sensitive bits where people feel things.

I don't think I could write half as well as I do without music, and it is music that helps me stay focused on my story rather then anything else actually going on around me.
