Question about external monitor

I am currently working on completing my camera rig, and im looking around for an inexpensive external monitor to use. Im shooting with an JVC Evario GZ-HD7 and being that it shoots in HD, I wasn't sure if the external monitor had to be an HD monitor as they cost a heck of alot more then just a regular TFT flat monitor would cost. Something kinda like this:

I really only need something that would help me frame up my shot, not something to focus on or anything like that.

Any ideas or suggestions?

If you're not using it to focus then you should be fine without an HD monitor.

alright cool. so that means pretty much any small monitor will work, like a dvd player, as long as it has input jacks

I would add, one of the main benefits of a monitor is focus. Marshall makes a 7" HD I have used several times. rents for about $50 a day. I have seen them used in the $500 range.
