I'm a beginning filmmaker and I'm very interested in practical horror makeup effects (i.e. prosthetics, latex, silicone, etc.). Does anyone know of some good resources for some starter projects in that area? I found a few, but it seems like most of em are either too low budget and look terrible, or super expensive and way too much for a beginner to take on. I'm hoping someone might know of some tutorial videos or something by someone who does good work on a decently low budget.

I get my stuff done by a guy in Florida J.D Ellis. He's very good and still i n a stage of his career where the prices are generally very fair. He made the severed finger for me in 109.
