Please Help! Problem With Shotgun Mic Straight To Camera

Hello all!

New here, but I don't know where to turn for help and advice with an issue I'm having.

I just bought an XLR cable to connect my Audio Technica short shotgun mic straight to my Canon T3i. It connects and works, but for some reason the audio comes out strong from the left side, and weaker from the right. I can't seem to find a solution.

What adapters are you using? It sounds like a "connection" issue. You may also want to check the audio settings on the camera.

Oh, and please be specific with the make/model of everything (the AT mic too, please). There have been many instances where certain pieces of gear don't play well together.
