editing Pinnacle Editing Software

Happy Friday people.....has anyone sued 'Pinnacle' Software for editing, if so, how would you rate it. I have very limited experience of Editing Software, and a work colleague has offered me a Copy of it, which will come in useful, if I want to try editing little bits and pieces I shoot on camera.

thanks

Pinnacle has been around for a while, but everyone I know who has used it has hated it entirely. It likes to crash, things don't work like they should, the interface is ripe with scaling issues, etc.,.

If you're look for basic editing (nothing too fancy, that is), check out Magix Movie Edit Pro, I used it pretty extensively for a while and always liked it. It has some pretty good audio mixing features!

will do, thanks for the tip

Pinnacle's strong points are fonts, font effects for titles and credits, and the fanciest transitions of all the post video editing software. Beyond that, they are very weak with audio tools, video editing tools, and video layering effects.

I used to use it years ago.

Adobe Premiere use to use Pinnacle for their text effects and fonts as well.

My old Premiere 6 even has Pinnacle Text Effects included with it. Previous to that Pinnacle text effects was a separate purchase, unless you bought software bundles.

The proper name for Pinnacle Text Effects is Pinnacle TitleDeko.

Of all the softwares we're taught in film school here in Orlando;

We learn the basics on Final Cut Pro X

Then we learn the Intermediate / Sole Editor Workflow on Adobe Premiere & After Effects

Then we learn the most advanced techniques and studio workflow on Avid with control surfaces.

Pinnacle is one of the few programs they don't even provide us with to mess with... lol
