PDF Expert?

I'm not really sure I'm posting in the appropriate forum because Viewfinder is gone. I have a question from a friend I'm forwarding if any of you guys could help. As you know, I'm a ma-roon when it comes to this kind of stuff. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

"Do you know any expert in pdf files with hypertext links? My book needs
'em desperately. I have hundreds of links I've entered by hand in Microsoft
Word, and I need to not enter them by hand again. When I burn my pdf file,
all the links are not clickable. I've tried different software,
many, many times. Help!"

I'm not an expert but in order to have actual links in a PDF file one can click on, you really need a PDF creation program that allows the links to stay in the document. I have Acrobat 6.0 which does this quite nicely... I know of a couple of other programs out there that keep the hyperlinks intact but there's only a handfew. Most PDF creation software will NOT keep the links...

In other words...

It sounds like your friend needs totally different software to create her PDF document if he or she wants to keep the links live.

Hope that helps...

P.S. Almost done with your script... LOL.

Wow... I had a few emails from IndieTalk members asking about "other" PDF creation software I might recommend...

The only OTHER software that I recommend that I have found to be reliable comes from:

VisageSoft.com --In fact, I use their eXpert PDF executive more than I use Acrobat 6.0. It's less complicated and does what I need it to do...

By the way, Adobe isn't the only company with a free PDF reader... VisageSoft has one as well and I use it all the time... Especially for reading PDF screenplays. You can download it here:

Thanks Filmy! I've forwarded your posts and he is quite appreciative.

I look forward to your critique, I've started on my first rewrite using your 4-act structure, an invaluable tool, BTW!
