A little about RottPro:
I started RottPro to fulfill my passion for film. Since then it has become not just the passion project of myself, but for a crew of the most talented and unselfish young artists one could ever hope to work with.
We have our own in house projects schedualed for 2008 as well as many clients in both dvd authoring and post production services slated for throughout the year.
We achieve our goals through our self sustained production suites that also allow us to keep costs low and the quality of the work high. We feature full editing, compositing, digital fx, make-up fx, and sound capabilities.
RottPro is out to prove that studio quality films can be made well under studio quality film budgets. Talent is key, and that we feel we have in spades. RottPro has made an ever expanding list of contacts and resources over the years that have allowed the quality of our films to blossom into something special. We want to create fresh and innovative films that will not only appeal to the horror market but to fans of many other genres and demographics but mixing genres to create strong muti-tiered films.
I also feel our work stands apart from the pack as in every film we try to incorporate a social subtext that is not heavy handed, but very much there if you look for it and listen close enough, this extra touch of intelligent writing and film making I believe can sometimes make all the difference.
Our body of work is growing bigger and bigger every year and we hope 2008 is our biggest and best. For easy reference we've listed the projects in which we've created in house and projects in which we've worked on both effects and post production.
Bad Friend (In House)
The Grindhouse Massacre (In House)
Curse of the Wolf (Killerwolf Films-Visual Fx and Post Production)
Fist of the Vampire (Killerwolf Films-Visual Fx and Post Production)
Curse of the Wolf, Fist of the Vampire and Bad Friend were acquired for world-wide distribution through Brain Damage Films.
The Info on Path of the Dead:
Path of the Dead is our passion project, a zombie film that introduces what we hope are all the things fans have ever wanted to see in a zombie film and so much more. We want to help forge new ground in the undead genre and so far with the scripts for our internet/dvd series and the three part feature series, we've done in spades.
We create new rules, but don't break the old ones. We know whoe's sandbox we're playing in and want to expand on what has come before, not change it, nor mimic it for that matter.
POTD is also meant as a cross media experience. We are currently in pre-production on a pc game, dvd set top game, board game, and more TBD. We have already begun an online comic by artist Eric Johns. We also are building a website that isn't a commercial for the film, but an interactive RPG experience of sorts. We don't simply want to create a zombie world that you watch, but the ultimate survival horror experience that allows you to become part of that world.
POTD has already signed scream queen Darian Caine and former WWE star Brian "Blue Meanie" Heffron, in major roles in the film. Both performers have worldwide dedicated followings and name recognition that will help generate sales.
We are also very happy to have make-up effects artist Rickylee Leonard. Ricky is a top of his class graduate at the Tom Savini effects school. His work was first seen in the Lion's Gate release, Murder Set Pieces. He has since worked on nearly a dozen other independent features and is garnering a strong reputation as one of the best make-up artists on the scene.
Our production designer is the amazing artist Eric Johns, who previously worked in the comics field for London Knight Studios.
POTD is meant as a Trilogy, but will be preceded by an internet series that will later be compiled on dvd. The series is meant as an introduction to the world. Something that will later expand on the films as well. We also want to show the fans that we too are fans, and serious about making a quality series of undead stories that were made for them.
The budget for both the series and the first film is $50,000. The first series is 7 episodes, at 20 minutes a piece. For $50,000 you get what is essentially two features for the price of one and two ways to make a profit.
I myself am currently about to start my first semester at AAU online and have already achieved much by working on the films listed above. I hope to achieve so more as those films are only a small fraction of the projects myself, and my crew wish to bring to life.
In closing we want RottPro to have the means to continue climbing upward and create something special out the hard work and long hours myself and my crew have put in, an opportunity we hope to find here at Indietalk. If any serious parties are interested please feel free to message me with any questions. Our myspace accounts for RottPro as well as POTD are listed below with our e-mail as well.
Best Wishes,
Dustin Austen
