The role this young woman tried out for is written for a hardened NY lesbian. She didn't grow up in NY, but came to NY to be an actress.

This actress hasn't had the sides for more than 2 days, and you'll notice she doesn't look at them. She's not perfect with a few words, like "skank" and "might as well be naked". But, the emotions of the lines are crystal clear.

These are both first takes with no direction.

I personally think she's excellent. But, does her accent affect you positive or negative?

It doesn't bother me in the least. But, in Us Sinners I have a woman with a German accent, who did a great job. But, many people didn't think she was good because of her accent.

In terms of accent, she says "When I first got to NY..."

So it will be pretty easy to give her some type of backstory that she came from Poland or wherever 7 years earlier or suc = accent dealt with.

I only watched a minute - the thing I noticed was her looking toward the lens a few times instead of looking at you - other than that, only you know what you're really looking for in terms of the emotion of the piece so if it's spot on for you then why not?

All the very best with this - Jim.
