Hello Indie Talk!
We wanted to take some time to introduce ourselves to your community. We are two filmmakers out of Portland, OR who have been working together for several years and felt it was time to push ourselves a little further with a very ambitous short film called Obolos. We would love to start building awareness around our project in hopes that people become excited to join us on this adventure.
Obolos is a story about a young boy who journeys through the Underworld to save his mom. His resolve will be tested when he is tasked with bringing back a fury demon from the world of the living.
This story isn't just about a young boy's journey, it's a metaphor for our own journey as well. We often put limits on ourselves by accepting many things as impossible, when in reality if you want something bad enough you just need to put in the effort to accomplish it. This film is something so ambitious we have often felt discouraged, but we noticed that as we put more effort into the project people began to orbit around it. They began to appreciate what it was we were trying to achieve and have felt inspired to help in ways only they can. That is exactly what we want this film to be. We want this story to inspire and resonate with anyone who has ever doubted themselves.
That being said, this project is supported by CG artists, make-up artists, special effects operators, toy figurine makers, concept artists and more... all of whom have donated time and resources to help get us as far as we have. We are always looking for people who may be interested in being a part of the creation process.
