Northern Irelands's first independant film festival

Northern Irelands 1st Annual Yellow Fever Independent Film Festival (YFIFF)

Northern Ireland will be seeing the arrival of its first independent film festival in August of 2009 when award winning film makers, YELLOW FEVER PRODUCTIONS, take on the challenge of playing host to local film making talent and other artists from around the country and the world. The festival will show case a large range of films over the two day event and bring local business together with a selection of stalls and workshops. The main aim of the festival is to expose new talent and give people a chance to show off their work to the public in a way that would have been otherwise unavailable before. This also includes special guests coming from Hong Kong, America and England to do talks and workshops with all who attend the festival.

Within a matter of weeks the festival has gained worldwide attention on popular websites GoreZone, Impact, Critical Film and others, and has seen advertising via other media in Northern Ireland and globally through the likes of GoreZone and Impact magazine. This has since helped us gain submissions from Canada, America, Ireland and Europe already.

Yellow Fever is a film company like no other in that we look for the people with spark, imagination and a passion for film making who either haven't had the opportunity to gain the qualifications or experience needed to work in film, or have simply never been given the chance to just go for it. We believe the old cliché that 'if you haven't got experience we can't give it to you' shouldn't stop people from living their dreams. With this mission, we have ourselves, completed over 40 projects including the award winning, Battle Of The Bone feature film, which has gained critical acclaim from industry professionals the in Hong Kong and America.

The festival will feature 20 stalls from local businesses, Q&A's with special guests, refreshments, a tattoo room (bringing 5 of the countries top tattoo artists together) and around 20 films (shorts and full length features) including the world premier of Yellow Fever Productions' latest film and an award ceremony to close off the event. There will be eight awards up for grabs including Best Film, Best Actor and Actress and Audience
Choice award to name but a few.

So far we have been sponsored by (although not financially) website Culture Northern Ireland, Video Monkeys, Critical Film and the prestigious Stormont Hotel, who have offered a reduced room rate for festival goers over the weekend of August 22nd and August 23rd (2009). We are still currently looking for an offical sponsor/partner to help us with financial support on this project with the sum of £5,000. This will help us to hire a full time project manager, the hire of the hotel, bring our special guests in from HK and England, and more, and shall gain your company name both national and international coverage as the festivals official sponsor.

If you can support us with the first in what we hope, is an annual project, we would love to hear from you as soon as possible...
