Nikon D600?

Woh. Did you know this was coming?

CNET Editors' Take: Nikon unwraps its D600 budget full-frame camera

And, Ken Rockwell: Nikon D600 24 MP FX, 5.5 FPS, 2-SD cards, $2,099

From Ken Rockwell's review page:

Video

Can't use the entire frame; crops-off 16:9 from the 3:2 sensor and uses that in both FX and in DX.

1,920 x 1,080 @ 29.97p, 25p or 23.976p: 24 MBPS or 12 MBPS.

1,280 x 720 @ 59.94p or 50p: 24 MBPS or 12 MBPS.

1,280 x 720 @ 29.97p or 25p: 12 MBPS or 8 MBPS.

Maximum clip length: 20 to 30 minutes.

MOV files containing H.264 MPEG-4 video and linear PCM audio.

A clip length of 20 to 30 minutes is better than the 5D II's and lesser Canon DSLRs, but still smoked by the GH2's.

And what's up with "Can't use the entire frame; crops-off 16:9 from the 3:2 sensor and uses that in both FX and in DX."?

Also, if the D600's moire performance isn't any better than the D800's, then I'm guessing that no one here is going to get too excited about it?

Not to be unkind, but some people here who have a significant investment in Nikon glass will buy it. After all, some people are still buying moire-ridden 12-minute cameras for video :)
