New Sony & Panasonic cameras (and some Star Trek) on the Reel Show

Hi All

New features on The Reel Show (www.reel-show.tv), the online TV channel for the film & TV production industry, includes an interview with VFX supervisor Niel Wray of CBS Digital about his work on the new graphics for the original series of Star Trek. He tells about the challenges of recreating the effects of such an iconic show and the reaction of the fans.
Sticking with the 3D animation theme the Reel Show recently visited the Dreamworks head quarters in LA to interview character animator Dan Wagner and producer Melissa Cobb about their latest creation Kung Fu Panda.
In the hardware section we take a look at a raft of new cameras which include an indepth first look at the Panasonic HPX-270 varicam which was used by cinematographer Graham Futerfas to film a short. Graham relates his findings exclusively to the Reel Show.
Another new offering from Panasonic is the HPX-170. Robert Goodman takes us through the new features of this latest solid state camera.
Sony have also been busy releasing new products and technical guru Adam Wilt tells us of his experiences shooting with the new Sony HVR-Z7 and HVR-270.

I'd love to hear your feedback

All the best

Denise
