mpeg streamclip

i'm having problems with this,
when i open it the quality bar won't allow me to push it to 100% and is locked in place at 50%, also on the drop down menu there isn't a setting for apple prores 422, does anyone know why this is?

I'm not sure why it won't let you go past 50% but the reason it does not show ProRes 422 is probably because you don't have the codec installed. ProRes is copyrighted by Apple, so programs like mpeg streamclip can't distribute the prores codec. The Prores codecs come with FCP and maybe with Compressor.

Thanks for your help, I re-installed FCP and it seems to have made streamclip work fine, I'm not sure what was wrong with it, must have had a bad copy of final cut. Thank you.

Also, the quality slider doesn't have any effect on codecs like ProRes or if you're using the 'limit data rate' option with other codecs.
