Im happy i bought the t3i...(same as the t2i) for a noobi like me it will fit my needs..tho i would like to have seen the new sony dlsr's preform. With that new see thru mirror tech they have prefected it sounds like a future death warrent to the current canon and gh dslr's.

It's true that the Canons produce a softer image.
According to some people who tested it the Canons produce about 700 horizontal lines that get stretched across 1080 lines, while the EX1R is said to produce aprox 1000 lines. This explaines the difference in sharpness. (This is also shown in the 'big shootout')

The blooming on EX1R looks weird: I have never seen that before.

However: the default setting of the curve of Canon and Sony seem to differ quite a bit.
This makes it harder to compar them.

The GoPro is also a great running gag with it's wide lens.

I think you should have used a GH2, which is said to be a lot better than GH1
And you should have tested the jello-effect caused by rolling shutter in fast pans. All CMOS cameras suffer from it, but I'd like to see whether there are differences.
(In my experience a 5D has more jello than the EX1R, but I never tested it side by side)
