Matching cameras

Soon I start filming a new project and will be using two cameras, a Panasonic HVX200 and a Panasonic AF100. I'd like to match their outputs as close as possible to save time in post. Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

lots of test and checking the 'scopes in your editor before shooting to get them to match as much as possible before hand so you know they are right.

White balance them both on the same card at the same time at each set-up.

If there is still a mismatch, a good editor can fix it in post -- but time consuming and likely a degrading of the images from one or both cameras to get it all to match.

Never shot on an AF100, but the footage from and HVX does not compare well to my 5D MK2.

Right, in order to truely 'match' the footage you will have to downgrade the AF100 footage....

Why do you have to use two cams?
