Hi folks,
I am completely new to this forum, but have some experience in filmmaking. I've worked in VFX industry for over 15 years, and directed a trailer that consisted of mostly new material (not from the film). I took a couple years off work and just completed co-writing our second feature length screenplay. We received very positive feedback on the first one; even a couple offers from established directors to forward our work to their agents. We declined, because my goal is to direct the second script 'Rebel-style', and have the first script in hand, just in case. Yes, a third script is already being outlined.
I'm looking for a referral for a complete soup-to-nuts feature production workbook/cookbook. I already have the most excellent "DV Rebel's Guide". Stu's approach is right up my alley but since I'm shooting a feature, and dumping a good chunk of cash into it I need some additional help with being a reluctant Producer. I need something with all the checklists, contracts, and releases I'll need in one book.
I just got Jason Tomaric's book "Filmmaking". It has lots of good information, but he covers so much ground it's all very generalized. He talks 'about' many topics, but unfortunately it's more of a tour of the filmmaking process, instead of the production cookbook that I need.
Thanks for your help.
