Los Angeles filmmaking training/schools over the summer?

Hey guys, I'm about to head out to LA. I'm driving out, specifically for one animation class at Gnomon Visual Effects School, but I have time for more training and while I'm out there for a couple of months I'd like to make the best use of my time.

Do any of you have any suggestions on LA-area schools where anything filmmaking/production related is taight during the summer? Any small studios that might need a free helping hand just for the heck of it?
