I'm a young Writer/Director living in Hollywood. I have some funding and a script for a Spec Pilot. What I don't have is someone extraordinary to produce this with me. So, I'm searching for a Co-Producer.
Let me be candid about compensation, there isn't any. I understand everyone is scrambling for paid gigs given the insecurities in the air, and I wish you the best if you aren't in a position to take bold moves. And if you are (Or you aren't, but you're going to take the plunge anyway), then you are exactly the person I want to be working with.
About myself, I am 22 and self-supported. I have an editing business, and I encourage you to check it out if you are considering this - austencollinspost.com. I edit in the day and write at night. I'm terribly ambitious and self-motivated, and I'm searching for someone who shares these qualities. When I was 12, I chose the "life behind the lens" and since then I've been directing commercials, documentaries, shorts, music videos, and developing my sixth sense - a shock-proof shit detector. I've got equipment, vision, a budget, and several guerilla filmmaking books stashed under my mattress.
All I'm asking is that you lend a 2-3 nights out of your week to meet and help me move this forward. The person I'm interested in working with is detail oriented and dependable. Reliability is huge in my book. Also, someone who is innovative and internet-savvy. I'm not going to entice you with absurd benefits like imdb or resume credits. We are going to sell this damn thing, and we won't stop pushing it around town until it is sold. So, if you are into creative business strategies, that is a definite plus.
Now for the good stuff. I've got a killer project in mind...
SCREENAGER:
"It's dusk, and these three teenage aficionados of cinematic violence are heading to Los Angeles, to get as close as they can to real evil..."
A Dark Comedy.
The spec pilot will stand alone as a web series pilot, but first I plan to shop it around to television networks.
Please reply to austen@austencollinspost.com with some information about yourself, possibly a reel or resume, and maybe even a facebook/myspace link. Leave a phone number as well. I will call you, we will meet, and blinded by envious rage, we will sharpie our names on the walk of fame.
Cheers,
Austen Collins
