archived-videos Little short we just finished!

Haha, awesome! Definitely enjoyed it. :)

My only complaint is that the audio seemed a little fuzzy, but it was still decent quality.

Loved the part where the agent breaks the guy's neck! :D *

*This makes me sound like a psycho, but watch the video and you'll see why!

The music is very nice! Fitting and cinematic. The neck-break scene was great. Very funny! Most scenes are lit and shot well. The ending was good as well.

Gunshot at the beginning looked fake. The reaction didn't seem very realistic and the blood/impact was too slow. That shot lingered on a bit long as well. The second gunshot looked bad as well. Maybe some motion blur and more blood would help. The film would also benefit greatly from some foley or good sound effects. The gunshots just don't sound right. One question: how did the kid not notice the gunshots in his back? I didn't get that. Some cracking sounds would be nice during the neck breaking scene. Some shots needed lighting. Not many, but some seemed a bit dark. Some sound effects would really help this. It would be nice to hear some subtle footsteps or creaking. The music and occasional room tone/soft gunshot sound effect really took me out of it. The pacing is very slow. It felt like it was ten minutes. Cut it down or add something else. Maybe some character background or motive. Lots of walking around and occasional kills. Why wouldn't the guy sneak out? Nobody was watching him, nor was he tied up, and considering the guards are so oblivious to what's going on. That brings me to another point. What was wrong with the guards. One of them doesn't notice the guy in his peripheral vision, making noises! One doesn't notice a guy shooting him in the back 4 times. How do you not notice that?! Some shots are a bit shaky. Not the good shaky, bad shaky. Not much of a story. Guy 1 goes in to building, kills people, saves Guy 2, throws up DVD . Audio isn't great. In the description, it says "James Bond parody". I in no way am trying to offend you, but were you trying to add cheesy elements mocking the films? No problem with that! But I think the comedy would have been funnier if you had gone a bit further and made it really bad.

Anyway, nice work! I hope to see more in the future. I'm subscribing because I'd like to see your improvement as a filmmaker and where you go with it. You obviously have talent.

Yes. It is all comedy. There is some back story because this is episode II.
The pacing bit you mentioned is probably spot on. This is where I need practice most. I have gotten better but can stand to work some more. I was able to cut a minute and a half out of the original edit, but your right, it could stand to lose maybe another minute.

There are a lot of things I would like to go back and change but one rule I live by, is don't ever revisit finished products. There will always be mistakes but once it is claimed as done. It is done. I take the mistakes with me to learn from, but I gain nothing from fixing them in past work.
