Mickey Fisher, a filmmaker from Ironton Ohio has his first
movie, THE KING OF IRON TOWN, released on dvd through
Vanguard Cinema. It is available now online through Netflix, AMAZON.COM,
and a host of other dvd sites if you Google it. We're hoping it will
also show up on a shelf near you, soon.
The movie is about two small town brothers who square off in a local
boxing contest. It was set and shot in my hometown, featuring a
largely local (or at least Ohio-centric) crew and cast. Scott Spears
was the DP, Bill Pivetta the AC and Sound Recordist. You can check
out the trailer at: http://www.leospride.com if you'd like a sneak peek.
The dvd has a fun behind the scenes doc, deleted scenes and a
commentary with the writer/director, the star and the editor. We
tried to balance out the behind the scenes stories with some how-to
low budget stuff in the commentary, so I hope it proves useful.
