Joe Johnston talks about the uses of Previz

so...in my search/obsession with trying to find out who they are casting as captain america (not really indie I know) i found an interesting blog post by joe johnston, the director of the movie. He doesn't talk about the movie so much but his take on Previz is really interesting. As someone who finds previz almost essential to get everyone on the same page, it was good to hear about the negatives as well.

It's interesting to hear Joe say this because he was the storyboard artist on the original Star Wars Trilogy and that's how he got into the film industry at all.

Personally I like pre-vis, but as a director if you are open to new ideas on set, then you have your backup with the animatics and storyboards.
