Hi everyone, I'm brand new and just wanted to share the webseries I've been working on since last summer, called Jesse and Jesse. I'm the co-creator, co-writer, director, editor and an occasional actor.
We've done 5 episodes so far and we'd love it if you guys checked them out.
Episode 1: http://youtu.be/NOLcf3uro9Q?hd=1
Episode 2: http://youtu.be/7ZIRujleHsY?hd=1
Episode 3: http://youtu.be/qc-o20f0u_U?hd=1
Episode 4: http://youtu.be/vxni7XTyUW0?hd=1
Episode 5: http://youtu.be/2eWVq-h5_BM?hd=1
We're also 30 some odd hours shy of finishing our Kickstarter campaign (though it looks like we're going to fall a little short): http://kck.st/KQGJK8
Short Description: Two unlikely friends and coworkers attempt to maintain their sanity and save their jobs in a town full of oddballs.
Long Description: Jesse is an ivy-league educated journalist stuck writing fluff pieces for a third-rate newspaper in a nowheresville town. He's overworked, underpaid, and totally overqualified. His dreams of success, as well as his self-esteem and pride, are slowly being chipped away by an antagonistic boss, unrequited love, and a crazy landlord.
When threatened with unemployment and then eviction on the same day, Jesse jumps on the internet to find a roommate. Unlike our hero, this new guy, also named Jesse, is a lazy, laid-back slacker, self-proclaimed guitar god, and all around fun dude. He’s in it to win it and wants to rage.
After a brief courtship, Jesse & Jesse become official friends and coworkers. With a second Jesse now in tow, the Editor tasks the Jesses with creating sensational stories to build buzz and popularity for the flagging newspaper. At each turn Jesse & Jesse run into seemingly normal situations with bizarre circumstances and outcomes, yet, miss the real story every time.
As the show progresses, the Jesses learn more about each other and their somewhat inconvenient situation, all the while trying to dodge being fired, arrested, evicted, murdered, violated, abused, kidnapped, and more!
My Own Criticisms: The acting is a little uneven at times. No one involved with this has any sort of acting experience aside from the Editor. They all SAID they did, but, once we were shooting it became apparent they were overselling themselves a bit and it was too late to recast. They do get BETTER as we go along. Episode 5 is my own personal favorite out of the bunch. With what we learned doing the first five I'd say there's a lot we've learned that we can put going further into the show. Adding in more slapstick/one-liners, some more action oriented episodes, things like that.
