It's never too late.

Hi my name is Mike. I'm from Atlanta, Ga. I'm completely new to the land of film making. I was recently inspired by someone I met from their experiences in film making. It has always been something I've been interested in, but as in many of my other personal projects the fear of failure has stopped my full commitment. I feel I have many creative ideas and concepts already brewing in my head. I've always been a huge fan of documentaries. I think this is an option I would most like to explore. So basically I'm setting a personal goal from today and this point on, to have completed my first documentary by the end of Summer 2010. I'll be needing plenty of advice, and I'm excited to get started.

Welcome Grasshopper!

I'm one of the audio guys here.

Keep in mind that the search function is your friend. Everyone here is always very glad to help you out, but a lot of the "basics" questions have been asked and answered many times.

And always remember:

"Sound is half of the experience"

"Old man, how is it that you hear these things?"

"Young man, how is it that you do not?"

Well I do have a couple of ideas. Being from metro Atlanta, I constantly find myself overwhelmed with traffic and all around hectic environment. The materialistic factor in any major metropolitan tends to often blind people. I've always been fascinated with the mountain people of the Smokey Mountain here on the east coast. I would like to capture the simplicity of their lifestyles and the joy they receive and share it. I know this idea isn't necessarily original at all, but I'm hoping that's where the preproduction work will payoff.
