Is this a good set of primes for Canon t3i?

I have a Canon t3i with the kit lens, and I just bought the Canon 50mm f/1.8.

I plan on buying two more prime lenses for a short film project, the ones I am thinking about are:

Samyang 14mm f/2.8 Or Sigma 30mm f/1.4

And

Samyang 85mm f/1.4

Has anyone here had any experience working with any of these lenses on the Canon t3i?

The Sigma 30mm would be better because of the aperture, but since the t3i is a cropped sensor, the Samyang 14mm would be wider, but it's not as fast.

Which one would you say is more important, the aperture or the wideness?

I'm not an expert on your other areas, but to answer your final question, I filmed an entire film (on t3i) with a 50mm lens bar one shot at the beginning and I was able to adjust the scene to film it ok with the cropness. Obviously 30mm isn't quite as wide though.

Th issue though is that if you ever wish to do Steadicam work (or even handheld) you can't do it on the 30mm very well, and this is where the 14mm would be a better option.

I'm pretty sure Sigma is a better brand than Samyang

Samyang are branded differently depending on what part of the world you're in. Another well-known branding is Rokinon.

First, stop worrying about your sensor crop! Are you used to working in Full frame 35mm stills? No? Then don't even worry about it.

A 30mm lens is perfectly fine for steadicam or handheld. I've done handheld with 35mm and even 50mm lenses in the past. I wouldn't recommend 50mm for beginner handheld, but 30mm - 35mm would be fine.

If you've already got a 50mm, and were looking at two other lenses for a more well-rounded set, I'd go for the 85mm and the 30mm.
14mm is super wide and you'll start to see distortions in the image.

But, it also depends what you're shooting - if you're shooting an entire film that takes place in a small, cramped bathroom then a 14mm might be the only lens that will allow you to get anything but super close ups.

In general however, you'll find much more use out of a 30mm than a 14mm
