Is it right for me?

Hi,
I am a engg. graduate 4m India & working full time for a company, which falls far apart from my choice. I am doing this for some basic liabilities to be frank. My ultimate aim has been movie making which I am not able to put into. Now, I think these liabilities will be over in 1.5 yrs. Can somebody suggest what should I do in the mean time so that it would be easy in achieving future goals? I m very confused as I am having quite a stable job right now & leaving it 4 something where future is unknown. Will it be good?

The good news: Bollywood now produces more films per year than Hollywood.

The bad news: it's very hard work, long-term contracts are uncommon, employment is often unpredictable and finding work often depends on who you know as much as what you know.

(But when you find work, there's no better job in the world.)

My advice would be to try and get as much experience as you can while you still have a stable income. Work on films for free, try and get a job as a runner/trainee on a film or with a production company or studio. Learn as much as you can, be enthusiastic and helpful and make friends - and try and work out which job most appeals to you. Then, when your current contract runs out, you'll be in a much better position to start making some money from film.
