Insurance Q - SAG indie short

Just trying to find out what insurance SAG requires. I know I have to check with local gov't for permits/general liability requirements - just trying to figure out if SAG mandates worker's comp for a short or not since it's kind of a different beast.

Just my opinion here, but if you're talking insurance for a short you're likely spending too much for this project.

If you can afford insurance then you likely have enough to consider reworking your project into a micro budget feature -- something that can help you earn back some of your expenses.

Good luck.

Shorts can't and don't make money, so spend as little as possible. I have never seen a short available in brick and mortar stores. I know of someone who made a great short, signed a distribution deal for a compilation DVD and wound up making a couple hundred bucks. Obviously they still haven't recouped their massive expenses.

I agree. SAG and indie don't mix... AT ALL!
