Insurance for a documentary

Hi all. Me and my partner are attempting to film in Canada in the CBC building. We have no insurance whatsoever. We have looked into it before but the prices that we have been quoted were well beyond what we could afford. Apparently, The CBC is asking that we have the whole enchilada. 2 Million dollars of liability, coverage for cast and crew etc... I called Film Emporium and they quoted me 2200 dollars for one day of insurance. That is cost prohibitive to us. We are probably s.o.l. here but I thought I might take a shot in the dark here. Does anyone have any ideas about getting this location or should we just forget about it?

Also, what is a recommended long term solution for us considering that we dont have much money.

Thanks ahead of time.

John

Film Emporium ended up hooking us up with 2million in liability for less than half of what everyone else wanted. Their forms and online certificate builder opened the doors to all the permits we will ever need for our small project. If someone would like more details about the policy feel free to pm me.

John, Im sure this may be getting to you after the fact but I can answer many questions you may have regarding the insurance industry and documenaries. There are definitely options out there you just want to make sure you are in touch with the right people. Having a good relationship with your agent is key, that individual is always someone you want to consult with if you ever have questions or concerns regarding the industry. Please feel free to pick my brain, I deal with production insurance daily. <Moderator Edit>
Best,
