Well, I tried to get them to let me sign up as a Producer, to see scripts I might want to buy for a feature production, and I got turned down. They could have made membership money off me but they turned me down. That seems like a sign of being legit. They also let you peruse short scripts free-- I did find a short romcom script I really wanted to produce but the writer was from Australia and did not want to sell rights outright for a few hundred dollars, she wanted to get into a contract with mobile phone royalties and all that--too complex for this noobie, for just a 10 minute short.

I signed up as a producer to the site and found a script that became my first feature film as a director. The original writer definitely got some money from me.

And incidentally, if you are approved as a producer, you do not pay a membership fee.
