Indoor Boom Mic - RECOMMENDATION NEEDED

Hello all,

I'm looking for a hypercardioid mic to be used for TV/Film production projects. I have an NTG-2 for outdoor scenes, but shotguns sound terrible indoors. I'm hoping to spend under $500.

One big limitation for me though is it needs to be a relatively sensitive mic, as I am recording into a Tascam DR-40 (not the best pre's). My NTG-2 is just barely sensitive enough - it would be great to find something with a little higher output, such as an ME66/K6.

So far I've narrowed it down to these, but other recommendations are welcome:

Oktava MK-012
Audix SCX1/HC
AT4053b (though, a little over $500)
AKG Blue Line CK93 and SE-300B
RĂ˜DE NT3

Thanks!

The AT4053b is a semi-standard for mid budget kits; I like it.

The Oktava is very prone to handling noise but sounds pretty good for the price.

The NT3 is too fat for standard shock-mounts, but does sound fine.

I've never used the the SCX1, though I've heard some very good things about it, and it's gaining in popularity. Nor have I used the CK93/SE300B, but AKG does make some very nice stuff.

Oktava is on my list of mics to acquire -- eventually. Aside from the handling noise issue already mentioned, it's a pretty nice sounding mic. I've heard it side by side with a much more expensive sennheiser and it performed roughly the same.
