IndieMeet 2013 recap! (video/pics)

Some of you may be wondering how the 2013 meet went. Pretty dang good, it was! Here's a video of some of the highlights:

Just when I'm trying to figure out what to present, someone usually steps up, B-I-G. This year, makeup/fx artist, Langley West, Kelly Schwarze (TERRITORY 8 feature movie), Alex Colonna (KILL CONWAY - IndieMeet tribute), and pyro-technician, Jimmy Gingsumrong (who gave us a fireworks display and squib demo) all shined brightly. Add to those, Rusty Meyers' acting troupe, along with some yearly regulars, Jake Bass (prop maker, martial artist) and the ever popular, Garo Setian, who edits trailers at Lionsgate and fills us in on what's trending in Hollywood.

Of course, it wouldn't be IndieMeet without my wife's cooking. Sheila delivered in spades. I officially went off of my diet that weekend.

Looks like it was a lot of fun. Just like last year's. A great group of artists... sharing their art. I learned a lot from last years gig. Scoopicman, you rock and keep rolling... Wish I didn't have such a full plate of projects in 2013. Could of used that Las Vegas break!

Hey, Don! Haven't heard from you in a while. I hope you are doing great. I don't know if you saw last year's video. You're in there in a couple of spots, such as 13 seconds in.

2012 and 2010 highlights:

Glad to know I didn't break your camera lens. LOL.

Give me buzz sometime. Sit around and talk. Might be in your neck of the woods this fall ... When are you going to start another project? You have all those great rock formations out there ... of course the flame's are not fun, but what a great backdrop to work with!

Thanks, Steve!

Josh, you might consider coming out for the 10 year bash, next year (June 2014). That should be special.

The mountain behind my house is 12,000' and full of tall pine trees. Just a couple of weeks, after this IndieMeet concluded, there was a huuuuuuge fire up there. Check out these pics, from my house:

Be safe. Hope the air quality is not bad. Feel real sorry for all those people up in those hills. And those that are breathing those fumes.

But. I would be the one to get as much 'fixed' camera footage of those flames, cloud formations and such... archive and later wrap a story around. Make the most of a very bad, horrific situation.

Be safe.

Already done! I got some amazing shots. That above still, with the sun in it, is from my HD video footage. Since then, it has rained. The fire is now 64% contained. IndieMeet remains safe. The view, as of 15 minutes ago (5:45pm PST):
