IFP/LA is now accepting submissions for its annual Screenwriters Lab that will take place in Los Angeles during June and July 2005. The deadline for submissions is April 11, 2005 (postmarked).
Sponsored by the Writers Guild of America, west, IFP/LA’s Screenwriters Lab is an intensive and very selective seven–week program in which participants develop their feature length scripts. Under the guidance of a Lab Instructor as well as advisors who meet with the participants one-on-one, the selected writers receive detailed feedback on their scripts. A maximum of ten writers are accepted into the program each year. Past instructors include Jeff Stockwell (The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys), Barbara Turner (Pollock, The Company) and Lee David Zlotoff (The Spitfire Grill). Guest speakers include Allison Anders, José Rivera, Don Roos, Audrey Wells, and Mike White, among others. For consideration, each applicant must submit a complete feature length screenplay that they would like to develop during the Lab.
