I noticed this community while looking up indie films/animations to be inspired by and it seems like a really cool place.

I'm Ryan Roye of Tanadrine Studios, indie 3d animator still very much in training but its pretty much my goal in life to disprove the idea that its impossible to make a good 3d animated visual story with limited resources (basically just myself and a computer/minimal software).

I think you've come to the right place :)

There's a good contingent of animators here of varying disciplines: "traditional", stop motion, 3D/CGI who I'm sure you'll hook up with-plus the general film community is probably supportive community I've had the pleasure of being a part of!

There's a lot of talented animators who have already proven this point, but the more the merrier. :)

I have a long road ahead of me, that's for sure.

and by animated 3d visual story, I mean something that is more than just an 3d animated short... the internet has enough 1-hit wonders out there. Have anything that isn't a short in mind? I'd like to see it!

There are a bunch of good animated shorts out there though and they are inspiring to me, among them being the backwater gospel, Saga of Biorn, and Distraxion.
