To recap the adventure from last time, I am trying to put together a sizzle reel for a sci-fi TV series to pitch investors/crowdfunding for a pilot. My plan was to wing the sizzle reel and wait until I found the series a home before forming a production company to produce it.
Fast forward to today, I just reserved our lead actress for the sizzle reel with her rep. And she is a beast. Definitely takes our chances of success from 5% to 105%. However, she is a SAG-AFTRA actress (presently doing theater).
Is there anybody who has taken the time to read through all the SAG-AFTRA requirements who can give a brief summary of how many hoops are needed to become a SAG-AFTRA signatory production company and how much the hoops are? Or can a non-SAG-AFTRA prodco just give her a waiver?
