How do you translate scripts ?

Alright so I am still 17 years old and I write most of my scripts in Bulgarian . However , I've been wondering , If I move to USA in couple of years and start to colaborate with different people from over there how are they going to understand my scripts ?

I am pretty good at english , but my grammar is far from perfect. Shall I write scripts in English as practise ? I can't write my scripts in English now , since there is quite a bit of a dialogue and my actors don't speak the language .

Eh .. pretty weird question but ..

Write in the language you know best or you feel comfortable writing. When you write in your own language, you can express much more subtlety. And practically, if you are making movies where the actors and crew read Bulgarian, that is the appropriate language. If you were in South America, it would be good to write in Spanish. But even with English, there are subtle differences between words and usage.

Fortunately computer assisted translation has become widely and cheaply available. While it does not give perfect results, it will often give passable results which a native speaker can often help you clean up, but with bias towards his/her variation.

Same idea but different ways it could be translated.

It is more important to learn the formatting of the script and art of telling a good story. The first is rather easy. The second is best done in one's own language. Na dobr chas!
