I use to think these spaces were dedicated to rooms in a home --for example -- with lights, a shotgun/boom microphone, and a green screen background/backdrop that would be "keyed" out to have an assortment of manipulated backgrounds/backdrops added in post production. After seeing some photos/footage of television confessionals, I've noticed that what i've described isn't always the case. What are the main elements to any TV show confessional? What equipment should be placed inside? How should background/backdrops be chosen? Which ones should be used? I've seen some TV show confessionals with custom backgrounds/backdrops that don't involve any type of greenscreen, and were made to look like fake interior walls or pieces that resemble something more abstract.
This is an example of one TV confessional background/backdrop featured on a reality television show titled "The Bad Girls Club", and it's an example of one that looks abstract in my opinion. It's shown from about the 1:17-1:30 marks in the video:

It's made to look like a hip/cool "bottle wall".
Here's an example of another TV confessional that I found online. I don't know what TV show it's from:
Have you ever designed one yourself? Experienced someone else design one? Do you have general knowledge of how they're made? Can make educated guesses? How are TV confessionals made?
