Help with scene or is it scenes?

I'm on the process of writing my first screenplay and have a nagging doubt. The script starts with a homeless person looking for food in a dumpster... Then he heads towards the sidewalk gutter and fetches some water. After that he starts walking through the sidewalk...

Question is: are those 3 different scenes or are they just part of 1 scene (they are all located on the same street)

They could be one scene...but it will be a bunch of different 'set ups.'

Or you can break it down into 3 different scenes in the script...it's your call.

Scene 10 - Exterior - Alley - Day

Blah

Scene 11 - Exterior - Sidewalk - Day

Blah

Scene 12 - Exterior - Sidewalk - Day

Or you can combine 11 and 12, and have him finding the water and walking away as one scene (sidewalk).
