Help what should I do

I know I want to be a film maker. I've wanted to be a screenplaywriter since I was ten, but now since I'm about to be done with high school and moving on to college I wonder if I can really make a living out of what I love to do. Yes it's my passion but I don't want to be broke. So my question is when did you start making a living at film making?

One in one hundred thousand makes a living as a filmmaker. There are some - like yours truly - who manage to make a living in the entertainment industry; I don't make films, but practice a craft needed by filmmakers. As they say, results may vary. Will I ever be rich? Probably not, but I enjoy what I do.

However, the time to give it a shot is when you're young. Just make sure that you have something to fall back on.
