HELP NEEDED FOR TAKING AN IDEA TO SCREEN!!!

Hi Guys,

I'm based in the uk & have no media experience, but I've got an idea for a documentary.
I can understand that everybody has ideas and this means very little but I really feel I've got a great subject matter.
what would be the best way to get the idea down on paper so I have something tangible?

three things:

1. youl either give up next week once you realise how much you have to do.

2. you have a passion for filmmaking and will spend lots of dosh to fullfill this dream during this process you will incur nervous breakdowns, praying, money problems, arguments with your partner, a moment in time a year later why you still havent filmed anything, a hatred for everyone because they think what your doing sucks, head banging, a shortage of friends, no friends.

3. you have money, you have an idea, you cant be bothered to learn about filmmaking but want someone to film your idea.
