I'm new here, hoping that I can find an active filmmaking community online to be part of. I work as a videographer for a catalogue company in the UK but I really want to make a living from making films.

Are you anywhere near London? I make small amounts (a few thou here or there) from film making and know some other people around London with production companies etc.... As a note, your stuff is way better than mine so you should have no problem.
