I am planning to shoot a feature film on MiniDV based HDV camcorder; most probably with SONY HDV Z1 on miniDV. I'm going to edit with finalcut pro. My ultimate plan is to blow up the work on 35mm for theatrical release. Please give me suggestion.
We had a recent discussion of shooting formats and considerations for transfer to film. It is here: 1K quality = to 35MM .... There are probably some other threads discussing this also, but that was the most recent. There was some digression there, so feel free to ask specific questions that you may have. I'll try to be helpful.
Don't forget that film has a different colour space to video. When you grade your film you should do it with a LUT so that when you do the filmout, the look wont change from the video you graded.
