Okay, so my friend and I shot a film on my HDV camera, I had to capture the footage on my Windows computer, and copy it to a portable drive to give to him so he could edit in FCP. Mind you, the footage works fantastic on my computer, even my weak laptop, but apparently FCP cannot read it!
I use premiere pro cs3, which supports pretty much every video format in existence, yet FCP can't read an MPEG2 HD 1080i file? What format should I convert the file to so he can edit in FCP? We want the original quality (which is magnificent) preserved...
