GH2 lens choices...

I was hoping for some suggestions. My budget is around the 500 mark but would like to spend less and get a slider or something but for now lets sayi have 500 for a lens.

I intend to shoot a full feature gangster flick, some lowlight nightclub scenes etc. If possible I want to use the same lens through the entire shoot so Im leaning toward a zoom...in fact im pretty sure i want a zoom but open to suggestions and logical persuation.

I'd like it to be fast but doesnt have to be super-fast, say no slower than 2.8. I think stabalization is important too but can sacrifice that perhaps.

many thanks

That's a small budget, I'd go with a 14-42 kit lens (it's slow) then maybe some Vintage glass to fill up the roster. a 50mm f1.4, a 100mm 2.8 and maybe a 25mm 2.8.

I don't know of any decent zooms for 500 bucks except for the 45mm-200mm m43 but that lens is diffficult indoors.

I was reading up on the GH2 myself since it looks like a great camera.

Check out this site.

It discusses the lenses you could use for your GH2.

However, I don't know if it's mentioned on that site, but I came across this lens.

You said you want one good lens right? I think this lens is very versatile and with that zoom range you can get great mid shots whether or not you're shooting with a m/43 or an APS-C sensor. And it's in your budget!

It has a lot of great reviews but I haven't used it personally.

Happy hunting!

thanks for the suggestions.

im looking at the panny pancake 20mm and its good for the price but i just cant take the bloody thing seriously. it just looks awful! and how is one supposed to get a follow focus on that thing. i just cant justify it.

so im also looking at the sigma 24mm 1.8 which looks pretty nice. also the sigma 19mm 2.8 looks good.

then there is the voigtlander 0.95 that Phillip bloom reccomends but quite over budget for me but may be worth the stretch.

the tamron zoom looks pretty good actually. this film was shot on it...
