Gangland UK

hi i'm thinking of making a youtube series (each episod 9-10 mins) about gangs and anti social youths.
The people in the film will be given different names and it will be fully scripted but filmed on the streets as a reality type film, a bit like shameless meets crimewatch.

The characters will engage in what appears to be crime to make people think ''is this real ?''
i hope to develop the characters and get a big fan base and create gripping scenes which will make people watch the next episode.
It will be set in Manchester where i live ,

what do you guys think ?

The title Gangland is used as a tv show on the History channel in america about gangs throughout the us, so might have to change the name. Other than that, I'm conjuring up the HBO series, Oz, though ion the streets and not in prison. Seems like an interesting thought, though wondering if you will bring about unneccessary intrusion from police and or passer-bys. That being said, I'd be interested in seeing it.

Just thinking out loud here. But if it seems real and shot in Manchester, doesn't it run the risk that a naive viewer could mistake it for the real thing and perhaps lead to actors being reported to the police? I would be very clear to word in the intro that this is only a dramatization. I'd also be sure to make it clear when you are filming them. They may be more astute in the UK. However, some Americans tend to think television actors 'are' their roles. Good for heroes, not so good for villains. Given the ability to webcast actual events, you run a risk if someone searches for crime in Manchester and accidentally pulls up your video and believes it to be real.

I think the webcasts based on your idea could be interesting. Criminal activity filmed guerilla style has certain risks.
