It was only the 70's

I think a lot of filmmakers over-do the grindhouse thing these days...I'm
old enough to remember seeing these types of films at the drive in.

Not that you have to go all Planet Terror on it, but the image seems too be too clear and clean. If the image was fuzzier and more grainy, it may have added more realism and add to the feeling of that time period. Also, you'll notice that there is damage to the colors and exposure most likely due to poor handling of the film.
