Submissions are now open for FRANTIC FILMS - an open-entry short film competition for work inspired by the films of Roman Polanski.
This is your chance to have your work judged by leading film professionals including: Timothy Burrill (producer “The Pianist”, “Oliver Twist”), Jerzy Skolimowski (scriptwriter “Knife in the Water”) and Pawel Edelman (DOP “The Pianist”, “Carnage”).
You are competing to win one of 2 exciting awards:
1. Best Film Award winner will receive £1000 worth of film equipment.
2. The Audience Award winner will receive a film making course at the London Film Academy.
The submissions deadline is 1 March 2013, so hurry up and SUBMIT!
Competition Details:
Whether homage or spoof, a masterpiece or simply the result of an hour playing with your i-phone, FRANTIC FILMS is open to all interpretations, regardless of your previous filmmaking experience. Instead, what counts are the following three criteria, on which all entries will be judged:
- The independent character of the film submitted.
- The quality of its response to Polanski’s cinema.
- Its use of the short film form.
NB. Films should be no longer than 10 minutes in length.

Shortlisted films will also be presented on the KINOTEKA website and open for electronic audience votes until 15 March 2013.
